For years the games industry gathered in Brighton for fantastic talks and networking opportunities. But, despite there being thousands of developers in town, back in 2023, there was no major showcase where people could gather, chat and play games. We wanted to bring more games to the seaside, and allow more developers to showcase what they’ve been working on while them and their peers are in town.
That’s where Brilliant Indie Treasures came in. Our aim was to create a showcase of 50 playable, unreleased or undercelebrated indie games; We also wanted to create a safe, alcohol free-space where developers could showcase for free, and the industry could come together to enjoy (and maybe even scout of sign) their games.
We deliberately set out to celebrate games that hadn’t had their moment in the spotlight, games that had interesting, fresh aspects, and games that you likely hadn’t seen or had the chance to play before.
On July 10th 2024 we succeeded in our mission, welcoming over 500 attendees to our venue and sharing our love of indie games, and we’ve been doing it every year since.
